For the best coffee and breakfast on the riverside go to the Angler's Table Café recently opened next to Creel Lodge on Taupahi Road.

Further afield, in Taupō, there are great meals to be had at any number of eateries listed on Tripadvisor, but a newcomer stands out for fine dining. For a real culinary experience, try Embra located in Kaimanawa Street, Taupō.
